EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must demonstrate participation in a minimum of 10 hours of continuing legal education in municipal law within the 2 years immediately preceding application or by December 31 of the year in which application is made. Please attach documentation or a statement of compliance with your educational requirements.(Required)

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must demonstrate continuing substantial involvement and special competence in the practice of municipal law within the preceding 2 year period of certification. One or more of the following demonstrates substantial involvement: (1) serving a minimum of 1 year as a legal advisor to a final decision making board; (2) representing a city in an administrative hearing before an independent agency or arbitrator; (3) first chair civil trial experience representing a city; (4) regulatory ordinance drafting; and/or (5) significant research on issues of municipal concern.
